First day - Deep Sea Slum

After a good night's sleep, the team was mostly refreshed and ready for action! After a first stop to buy crafts to support the Methodist Church feeding program in Deep Sea slum, we went to the slum. We spent time playing with the kids, blowing bubbles, glitter painting hands and faces, coloring sheets, and making balloon animals and hats. We participated in distributing the hot lunch, which now happens daily. It's making a difference in the health and welfare of the kids. It's fun to be there and join them but it fills you with emotions you can't (and won't ever be able to) resolve. But what a blessing to be able to be a part of.
